Bookspoke was designed for book clubs and their members to find new books to read, share their thoughts about books at a convenient time and help a group manage its book choices.
Establishing a reading group on Bookspoke is easy! After you have registered with our service (it's free!), click on the Create Reading Group option under the Connect header that is at the top of every page. You will be prompted to write a bit about your reading group - remember, the more you write, the more likely you are to find readers like you.
Once you have set up your reading group, invite your friends to join. Just send them an email telling them to come to Bookspoke. Alternatively, you can find new friends who share your reading interests by browsing our forums (under the Connect header) or by browsing lists of users (also under the Connect header). You can also read reviews written by other users and see if you find someone with your sensibilities. You can find reviews under the Read header at the top of every page.
On Bookspoke, a reading group can be public, moderated or by invitation only. It's your choice how you want to run your book club.
Once you've established the reading group and given it a name, Bookspoke takes care of all the maintenance. Discuss the book before you get together--or wait until after your monthly meeting. As part of your book club page, you can have a forum to discuss everything from this month's book to next month's margarita recipe - just click on the Create Forum option under the Connect menu, tell it to show the forum in your book club, and we'll do the rest.
On Bookspoke, both you and your reading group members can nominate new books and authors for next time. If you're looking for a new idea, browse our Featured Reviews or the User Reviews under the Read header or look at what other book groups are reading through the Connect header. Bookspoke gives you all the tools to have a more enriching reading group.
